INTRODUCTORY HAND DRUMMING WORKSHOP FOR BEGINNERS at DRUMZ this Fall! We will have another "Discovering the Magic of Hand Drumming" workshop on Saturday evening, October 12th, 2013 from 7-8:30pm.

Just starting out but not ready or able to commit to a series of classes? Took one series but haven't touched a drum since? Still just thinking about starting out but you've always known there was a drummer inside? Been drumming a while on your own but just know you need more of a vocabulary with which to speak? This special Friday evening introductory workshop may be just for you! If you have a heartbeat, you have rhythm!  This is an ideal beginner's workshop and will enable you to learn about the fundamentals of hand drumming, learn a fun West African-style rhythm pattern and song, and get to do an improvisational, in-the-moment closing rhythm as well! This could help you decide whether or not you would want to go further into the exploration of hand drumming or maybe take one of Sherry's six weeks hand drum sessions! If you have always wanted to join in with percussion at drum circles or parties but felt hesitant for lack of understanding and knowledge about the instruments and the hand technique, this is a perfect workshop to attend and get your feet wet in a safe, supportive, and fun instructional circle! WE ALL HAVE RHYTHM! Come meet some other beginner drummers and learn about rhythm, hand technique, drum circle etiquette and how to select a good quality hand drum perfect for you! DRUMS ARE PROVIDED! Please call to register in advance at 453-9090. MC/VISA accepted,or come by Drumz at 3700 1/2 Kerbey Lane and find out more(next door to the original Kerbey Lane CafĂ©).
